Burberry Nails

Ever wanted to create a super cute and preppy nail look? Possibly inspired by Burberry? Well here is the perfect tutorial to teach your how to create the iconic pattern on your finger tips in minutes! Step by step pictures and instructions are included as well as a list on products used. So let's get started!

Products Used

Base Coat: OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
Yellow: Mix of Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow, Sinful Colors Easy Going, and Essie Ballet Slippers
White: L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Art
Red: Revlon All Fired Up
Black: L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Art

Directions

1. Apply a base coat to your nails and then apply a yellow-y tan color as a base for the pattern. I had to mix some colors together to get this one but something like a nude would work also.
2. Add a vertical white stripe to the left side of your nail about a quarter of the way in from the left side.
3. Add two red stripes. One vertically about three quarters of the way in from the left side and another horizontally a quarters way up from the bottom of your nail.
4. Outline your white line with two black, vertical lines.
5. Add a few horizontal, black lines a bit above your horizontal, red line. On some nails I also added another black line below the red line.
6. Add a top coat once all the polish is dry and your have a super cool Burberry inspired nail look!

Helpful Tips and Tricks

- I used the L.A. Colors Nail Polish because they have thin, long brushes that are good to draw the lines  with so I recommend trying to find nail art polishes. I found mine at the Dollar Store!
- If you don't have a very steady had or are new to nail designs Nail Pens like this one are a great alternative because it is just like using a marker!
- You also could put tape on your nail to divide it into the lines. Originally I was going to do this but you have to wait for each color to dry all the way and I can get kind of impatient, haha.
- I find vertical lines to be the easiest for me. With horizontal lines I sometimes mess up the thickness or make them crooked. I biggest tip when drawing those lines on is the rotate your finger instead of dragging the nail polish brush across. This helps create a more even line.
- For my nails, I kept with basically the same pattern, however you can experiment with different thicknesses of lines and their positioning.
